Is Brisbane Australia’s New World City?

That’s how the city is marketing itself and while I’m sure the answer comes down to your opinion of what Brisbane has to offer, after recently expanding my knowledge of this city, in my personal opinion I dare say it comes close! Brisbane certainly hit the world stage in terms of awareness since hosting the G20 Summit in November 2014 and by all accounts (not just those of Australian’s but those internationally also) that highly important event was a huge success. So what makes Brisbane such an appealing city and why would you consider holding your next event there? If there was short answer I would say it’s because it’s a surprisingly diverse city, that has the ability to offer a wide range of options in a relatively short radius, BUT, let me give you some further insight into this potential “new world city”. 30 minutes is all it will take to transfer your guests from the airport to the city CBD, which after a short domestic flight from most interstate ports in Australia means your guests aren’t wiped out from a day of travel before they even start the event. Large conference or intimate special event, there are a great selection of venue’s to meet your needs. The Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC), Brisbane City Hall and the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) can meet the demand of a large scale conference or event with ease. Fiji, holiday hotspot or destination inspiration?

Fiji, holiday hotspot or destination inspiration?

The short answer – it’s both! But read on to find out why Fiji is a great choice for your next conference, meeting or incentive. I’ve recently returned from a family holiday to Fiji and I’m sure your first thought is, yes yes, it’s the perfect place to take kids for a holiday and yes, it certainly is. But, it was while I was on my family holiday that I was reminded (having run events in Fiji many years ago) and re-inspired about the great reasons it works on so many levels for business. The fact I was supposed to be “on holiday” yet there I was looking at the InterContinental Hotel at Natadola Bay with my work hat on, thinking, who wouldn’t feel inspired being here? Regardless of the reason for holding your event or what venue in Fiji works for you, isn’t having your guests feeling inspired one of the key emotions you would like them to take away from bringing them together? Feeling inspired usually means the creation and implementation of great things! Let me give you a quick overview on what helps make this destination one to consider for your next event… 1. Flights With Fiji Airways, Virgin Australia and Jetstar flying to Nadi with excellent schedules and a flying time of only 4 ½ hours, you’re leaving your home port mid-morning and arriving in paradise by early evening, just in time for a welcome function by the beach or pool! 2. Venues All the major hotel chains are represented in Fiji as well as your more boutique options, so whatever your budget, group size...

Location, location, location!

What factors do you consider when deciding where to hold your event? The location can play a key role for your guests when deciding whether to attend your event or not. To ensure you get maximum attendance every time, here are some elements to consider when choosing the perfect location for your event. A combination of the below is the key to making the right choice. Location Is probably THE most important factor. Whether your guests are flying in or simply making their way across town, the location sets the tone for the style of your event. It’s the first impression guests have before any other elements take place so make sure you choose to hold your event in a venue that aligns with the outcome you are trying to achieve. Wow factor Does your venue have that ‘something special’ about it? Will it help ensure your event stays top of mind of the guests long after they have left? Finding a venue that is new, recently refurbished or is styled uniquely are all ways of ensuring a great first impression. Choose a venue with a point of difference and your event will have a point of difference too. Accessibility Ensuring straightforward access for guests is paramount. Is parking readily available and affordable? Is the venue easy to find? Do guests need a map and directions? Is public transport to and from the venue an option? Is there any restrictions in place in terms of size or type of vehicles and access times? Ensure you have investigated these points and provided your guests with instruction prior to the event...
